Snowflake Tutorial Videos

Lisa has a great NEW tutorial out, courtesy of the Fat Quarter Shop.  This is a 4 Part Series in how to create the Snowflake wallhanging! Part 1: How to Free Motion Quilt, Part 2: Straight Line Quilting, Part 3: How to apply the Buttons and Part 4: How to do a Single Fold Binding.

The Snowflake kit and pattern are exclusively sold thru Primitive Gatherings and The Fat Quarter Shop.  To order your kit or pattern please click here: Snowflake. We have also put under RELATED ITEMS, which is located behind the discription of Snowflake, all of the items that Lisa has mentioned in these tutorials! So you don’t need to hunt those down or try and remember each item she is speaking about.

Ever wanted to do a little Free Motion Quilting but to afraid to get started?  I know I have…..taking that first stitch is always so scary but once you get it going it all comes together!  Watch the 2 videos below on getting started with Free Motion Quilting and Straight Line Quilting

Ok, now that you have your quilting done.  It is time to put on those buttons, which are included in the kits.

Anyone ever done a Single Fold Binding before??  I was a tad bit intimidated by this method to be honest, especially after watching Lisa do all her bindings on quilts on the way to Market, from the new Little Gatherings Book coming out in August.  But after watching this video, I am pretty sure that you and I can do it!

Have an absolutely wonderful day, it is beautiful outside! I can’t wait to get out in my garden tonight!

Wisconsin State Shop Hop

Looking for something to do this month?  Or wanting to go on a Road Trip?  I have to perfect opportunity for you!!  The Annual Wisconsin State Shop Hop Started this past friday and will go thru June 27th, 2015.  The Shop Hop encompasses 66 different Quilt Shops throughout the State of Wisconsin.  This year the fabric is absolutely amazing and is a collaboration between Windham Studions, Jeanne Horton (Country Sampler) and Julie Hendrickson (JJ Stitches).  Each Shop was required to create a project using this fabric,  we decided that we would make a quilt!  It is perfect for you to take with you to your sporting events, picnics or give to that special someone who is going to a UW school!  Our Quilt is 76″x83″ and the kits were cut so that you did not have to piece the long strips in the quilt, which is perfect for me because I want to make at least 2 of these for graduating seniors I know!  Wisconsin State Shop Hop Quilt Ordering

There are some FABULOUS prizes that are going to be given away as well.  Each Shop has a $200 Gift Basket that you can enter to win, you don’t even have to complete the Shop Hop to be eligible!!  The GRAND PRIZE, which would mean that you need to go to 51 Shops and complete one full “section” of the Shop Hop is a Trip for Two to the International Quilt Festival in Houston Texas, this year in October!!!  It is a 5 day, 4 night stay which includes Airfare, and Lodging at the Hilton (which is right across the street from the Convention Center) and tickets to the Festival.  Just saying if you win and you need some one to go along with you, I would be happy to fill that #2 spot for you!!  🙂

Facebook Page for “Somewhere in Time” SBOW

We are going to putting together a Facebook Group devoted to the Wool Summer Block of the Week this year. This group will ONLY be for those that are participating in the Wool Block of the Week. We will use this Group for you to share your pictures of your blocks, questions about the Program, or any questions in general that you have that pertains to the SBOW and we are SUPER EXCITED about it!!!

We will be doing some videos and sharing some helpful hints for working with wool. For those of you who would love to take a class from Lisa this will be the next best thing for you to do! And possibly a give away or two might be happening! We also ask that if you are part of this group, that you do not repost or share any of the info given as these will be some Lisa’s teaching methods and they are for your benefit because you signed on to receive the SBOW…  Anyone who is part of the SBOW will get this awesome information.  If  you are joining in but do not have a Facebook…maybe nows the time!  Its not hard at all…someone can show you…all you need to do is ask them.

Also please keep in mind…this Group will NOT be about when your SBOW shipped, if it has shipped, or that your credit card was hacked and that you need to give us a new one. This Group is going to be monitored by someone who does not do the Shipping, and therefor ask that you email or call the Shop with any concerns that you might have about your SBOW.

In order for you to participate in the Group we ask that you Facebook Friend: Jessica Holz. Jessica takes care of our Facebook Page for Primitive Gatherings Quilt Shop in Menasha and will be the Monitor of the Summer Block of the Week. Due to Facebook Policies, you will need to be a friend of hers in order for her to include you in this Group.

Please make sure that you sign up for the SBOW if you have not done so yet I think some of you might be on-the-fence but maybe this added bonus will push you over! It will be starting the first week of June! I know Lisa is going to be working on the Freebies that are given away each week, and you will want to make sure you get the first ones!

If you would like more information on the Summer Block of the Week please see either the link above or our Blog post about the Summer Block of the Week in earlier posts.

Please let us know if you have any other questions, thank you Jessica
