Barbara Brackman’s Civil War Sampler Block #44–West Virginia

So we are now entering into the “Challenging Blocks!” This one is challenging for sure. I made it twice, using a different method each time. The way that worked best for me was to sew strips to the side triangles first. — One on each side of that triangle. Attach those to the four sides of the center square, and sew the four diagonal lines at the very end. The set-in seams work well if you mark your seam lines in pencil first.
You can find tutorials for sewing set-in seams online. Have fun with West Virginia!
